Prof. Yongtu Liang University of Petroleum-Beijing, China
Biography: Prof. Yongtu Liang, Doctor’s Degree, PhD supervisor, was graduated from China University of Petroleum (East China) with a bachelor's degree in oil production engineering in 1995, and obtained a master's degree and doctor's degree of engineering in the major of oil and gas storage and transportation engineering in China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in 2001 and 2009 respectively. Professor Liang has been to Robert Gordon University as a visiting scholar from the year 2005 to 2006 in the United Kingdom for further study. Since 2001, he has been employed by China University of Petroleum (Beijing) as a teacher and has been awarded SPE outstanding contribution award, SPE innovative teaching award and other awards as well as honorary titles. Currently, he is the secretary general of the executive committee of China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition. The main research fields of Prof. Liang contain the optimization in multiproduct pipeline and oil-gas field surface engineering. Since the year 1998, he has been engaged in the research of oil and gas pipeline optimization, and has made outstanding achievements in the establishment of optimization models, optimization algorithms and the application of optimization methods in oil and gas pipeline engineering. On the basis of operations research as well as systems engineering, a set of methods to establish model structure suitable for the dispatch of product pipeline whose technology is sophisticated together with the simplification and optimization in the field of gathering and transportation pipeline network have been put forward. Real-time scheduling optimization algorithms and improved swarm intelligence algorithms based on the self-learning techniques have been developed as well. The above achievements have been successfully applied to the optimization of oil product pipeline scheduling, oil and gas gathering and transportation system and secondary logistics. So far, 4 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, six items funded by the province department level topic, and several other scientific research projects have been managed by Prof. Liang. He has published more than 100 papers as the first author or corresponding author in high-level academic journals such as Energy, Applied Energy, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Computer& Chemical Engineering, Journal of Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering Research & Design, Computational and Engineering Applied Mathematics and other journals in relevant fields during the past five years.
